IEDC Announcement from Governor PenceINDIANAPOLIS – Seventeen companies have unveiled expansion plans expected to create nearly 650 high-wage jobs throughout the state. The Indiana Economic Development Corp. says the announcements top off a year that included commitments from 323 companies, totaling more than 26,000 new jobs.

The IEDC says this year’s expansions include more than $4.7 billion in investment. The 26,555 positions are expected to pay an average hourly wage of $24.87, which is more than 14 percent higher than last year and higher than the current state and national average wages. The organization says the state landed commitments from 59 tech companies, which is an increase of more than 150 percent from 2014. The jobs involved in today’s announcements are projected to pay an average annual salary of more than $82,000.
